He's back!

I am now back. I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Theology degree in New Testament Studies this past week with Highest Honors (top 3 in my class). I am most greatful to my wife and children for seeing me though a four year degree in three years. I am grateful for the education I received, but having evolved significantly in terms of ideology and I am very much looking forward to studying in a less ideologically restrictive environment so I can freely express my thoughts.

Stay tuned I will be posting frequently from my new iphone.

Welcome to the Brite family, brother Rob!

Glad to hear it!

In an unrelated question, how do you get that app on the right side of your blog that lists your book, with a picture, and the amazon new and used price? I want to have something like that on mine for volumes I am currently reading. If it involves tinkering with the html, I'm in trouble from the outset.

Rob, congratulations on graduating. I know that we haven't connected since I left DTS, but I have kept up with you periodically through your blog. All the best to you as you begin your new academic venture at Baylor.

Baylor? Or Brite?

John,
I apologize for not responding sooner. The amazon link was generated from the amazon website. I set up an account and they provided the code for it. There are a host of options for listing books like that and you can actually earn a small amount of money for selling others books through your site, but honestly I've never earned a dime, so I wouldn't bet the farm on it. You just cut and paste their generated html into a link on blogspot or whoever your blog is through. It doesn't take any technical know-how.

Lenny,
Great to hear from you friend. I am actually going to Brite Divinity School at TCU. I did apply to Baylor, but Brite is a better fit for me...I'm going to be working with Warren Carter :)

Rod,
You are a great guy! Thanks for commenting and I'm thrilled to be attending your school. Thanks for all your support during the grueling process of applying and visiting.

Thanks, buddy. Where exactly on amazon did you go to set it up? I obviously use amazon frequently, so I am simply curious how to do this. Any guidance you can offer is appreciated.

BTW, I meant to ask--you said you applied to Baylor. Did you also come here for the preview weekend and interview? If so, what did you think of the NT (and OT, since that is my area) faculty? And did you get accepted?

Sorry, John, I should have been more specific. I believe I did it through the Amazon Associates program as one of the options to advertise their books, I just made the decision to advertise my book from their site, but you can choose any book/books or a rotating list that you like.

I was very impressed with Baylor's faculty. I met with Charles Talbert when I visited and some others in the PhD department. I was also really interested in working with Longenecker when I found out you all picked him up to chair the NT department. Unfortunately, I was not accepted to Baylor. I suspect it had to do with less than stellar GRE scores because I applied with a 3.99, a four page CV, as a published author, and both diverse and solid references. Baylor is a fantastic program, but God had other plans for me, and I'm very happy with that.
