We are going to play a new game called "Name that Messianic Tradition." See if you can discern the author, passage and figure-description (or round about "title") of the figure in view. By the way, "Messiah" is not what I'm looking for, rather see if you can describe the figure's characteristics within the literature.
1. Text: "As for your seeing a man...this is he whom the Most High has been keeping for many ages, who will himself deliver his creation."

The one like a son of man from Daniel?
Son of Man tradition.
Sounds like something from the people who gave us Enoch.
no idea what passage.
John and Rod,
Both excellent suggestions! However, close does not receive the cigar! This quote is frequently discussed with the Deutero-Daniel and Enochian literature, however, it is from neither. I will wait until either tonight or in the morning to reveal the answer so that others, if they so choose, and you can offer more guesses. Thanks for participating.
Good thing I don't smoke.
4 Ezra? It seems like he changed up the Son of Man to just "man" if my memory serves me...
